A world premiere musical and an exciting new re-imagining of the musical Pippin both directed by James Vasquez.

HARMONY KANSAS
by Anna K. Jacobs (Composer) and Bill Nelson (Book and Lyrics)
Directed by James Vasquez

With a lively, soulful score, Harmony, Kansas tells the story of Heath, a gay farmer making his way in a rural community where homogeneity rules. When his city-born partner, Julian, talks him into joining a spirited group of gay guys who meet once a week to sing, Heath discovers a love for making music and a kinship he didn't expect. But his world is turned upside down when the group considers performing in public, threatening everything that matters to him, including the life he’s made with the man he loves.

Rehearsals begin May 14
Runs June 14-July 22

Heath
30-ish
A farmer through and through. Keeps to himself. Very masculine. Heath feels the need to project an image of strength. And he does. His softer side is not readily apparent.

Julian
30-ish
A Midwestern city guy who moved to the country to be with his partner, Heath. He’s bright-eyed, passionate, energetic, charming, loveable and can’t help but be pushy.

Darrell
young40s
Definitely overweight. A teddy bear. Nurturing. Emotional. A little needy. Wears his heart on his sleeve. But still masculine and sexy.

Kent
young 40s
A natural charmer. He projects a laid-back, confidant persona, but dark waters lie below. Masculine.

Wiley
Late 30s–60s, tenor
An uptight, musical nerd. Not effeminate. Not sexual. A guy you wouldn’t notice in a room.

D.J.
17
Skinny. White trash. The loudest and only queeny one in the bunch. (Not too queeny. This is rural Kansas.) He’s a force to be reckoned with.

Fuzz
60s–80s
No time for bullshit. Masculine. He’s a strong, sturdy man despite his age.

Pippin
Music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz
Book by Roger O. Hirson
Directed by James Vasquez

Pippin tells the story of a young prince on his search for meaning and significance. Please be familiar with the show. Prepare a 1 minute song, preferably by Stephen Schwartz. You can sing from the show.  Looking for strong performers with a bit of a modern, current rock edge to their voices, and some movement skills. (rock edge not a deal breaker).  All performers will fill out the ensemble when not in their spotlight track.

Rehearsals begin August 6
 Runs Sept 6 - October 14
