SUMMARY:TICKETED EVENT — Impride: An Improv Festival with PRIDE
DESCRIPTION:Impride is a queer comedy festival dedicated to the amplification of queer voices in comedy. Impride includes improv, stand-up, sketch, plays, drag, and more! Impride has been going strong since 2015 at Finest City Improv and last year with Diversionary Theater, the third-oldest LGBTQ+ theatre in the United States. In 2023 we are hosting three nights of shows, workshops, a panel discussion, and of course some parties! Join us as a performer, workshop teacher, or attendee, and as a guest of the queer magic and joy that is IMPRIDE!\nTo learn more or get tickets, visit https://impride.org/tickets/.\n6:30 PM: Welcome/Mixer\n7:00 PM: Egg and All Request Radio\nEgg is a 6 member improv team consisting of FCI grads. They do a rough form of the Harold with their own unique group game and a slacker opening. They promise to only make 1-2 Egg puns.\n8:00 PM: The Nancy Boys and The Hardy Boys!\nThe Nancy Boys – All folks who like lively adventure stories, packed with mystery and action, will want to see every improvised mystery starring husband-duo Nick & Justin Condon as Frank & Joe Nancy. Sons of a famous American detective, the Nancy Boys help solve many thrilling cases after school hours and during vacations, as they follow up the clues they unearth in their quest to bring criminals to justice.Imagine watching an episode of your favorite 1950’s sitcom on stage, but with the wry commentary of today. Plus it’s all based on audience suggestion. That’s right, it’s all made up on the spot. No two mysteries are ever the same – that’s the magic of improv comedy.Featuring only two actors, this sendup of “Classic Americana” is full of character swaps, pops, and slides as they paint the fictional town of “Gayport, USA.”\nHusband team Nick and Justin Condon have been touring and performing together since they met seven years ago. Their chemistry, connection, and shared love for campy narrative gave birth to the Nancy Boys.\nThe Hardy Boys – The dynamic musical duo of Kat Dudley and Jesse Suphan. In a 30 minute completely improvised musical these two set out to solve a musical mystery. They explore characters and their own fears accompanied by the amazing Stu Shames on piano!\nKat Dudley and Jesse Suphan have been performing together since 2014 and are co-producers of the Impride Festival.\n9:00 PM: B&B and Hysteria\nB&B – Betse Green and Bill Cernansky are longtime veterans of the Portland improv scene, but they’ve been married even longer–since 1989. They are both members of Portland ComedySportz. Betse is also an ensemble member of Curious Comedy Theater. Playing as a duo, for the last 15 years with their signature format, The Revolver, B&B focus on what they know best: relationships.\nHysteria – Hysteria WAS a medical explanation for “everything that men found mysterious or unmanageable in women,” a conclusion only supported by men’s historic dominance over medicine. ‘Hysteria’ NOW is an all-female improv team that creates “mysterious and unmanageable” comedy based on a one word suggestion.\n
