What if the man who issued the Emancipation Proclamation was a Friend of Dorothy? That’s what 17-year old Cal suspects, and he is bound and determined to find proof as he sets out on a whimsical journey that takes him all the way to Washington D.C. Along the way, Cal finds a deeper understanding of his own identity and his relationship to his family as he wildly re-imagines the life of the most revered President in history.
