Diversionary Theatre Presents a brand new community engagement series! The Spotlight on Community Voices cabaret series shines on local artists and their stories. This cabaret series is a monthly event that showcases various types of artists and performances with shows beginning Fall 2025.

As a kid, TJ felt like the knock-off version of who he wanted to be, a feeling that he turned into his illustrious career as a performer. A closeted Black man moving through an unkind world, he faced challenges in life, love, identity, self-acceptance… But on stage, he was free. Singing other people’s songs, acting out other folks’ stories– the stage was a safe space where TJ could be anyone he wanted. But a lifetime of living in the clouds will rain down hard after a while, and TJ could feel the storm brewing… A reflection on the lessons life teaches (whether we want to learn them or not), and the eternal search for the sunlight beyond the clouds.
