Word UP! QUEER COURAGE & CARE: An OSP Celebration
Our Safe Place South, The Old Globe, and Diversionary Theater invites you to an interactive show of courageousness and community care! We look towards Alok Vaid-Menon when they say “Courage has always struck me as misleading — rather, it is community that allows me to keep going” (Alok Vaid-Menon, care over courage). Despite historically receiving hostility, rejection, and lack of support, we want to honor the resiliency of the LGBTQIA+ community and the ways that we have and always will thrive. We invite the warmth of community and the beauty of growing into ourselves through the art of performance. Guiding us through this exploration we will have featured artist Kian Kline-Chilton, and performances by Miki Vale, and Grace Towers, hosted by Laura Zee.
Join us in celebrating the creativity in making ourselves and the world we want to see! This is a free event, open to all ages. Due to the nature of the event, the bar will not be open.
