WHAT: He’s back! Award-winning choreographer Michael Mizerany returns to Diversionary Theatre with the second installment of IN THE VA VA VOOM ROOMafter its riotously successful debut last January. Critics of last year’s installation called the show “Fun, in your face and ever so titillating!”This year boasts all new material, and due to limited performances tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
IN THE VA VA VOOM ROOM, we ask you to leave your inhibitions at the door. This scintillating sixty minute contemporary burlesque will make even the bawdiest San Diegan blush. Audiences can expect to warm up with many different types of dance – you’ll get a taste of contemporary, modern, heel dancing, pole dancing and erotic stripping. This eclectic dance concert features work choreographed by Andrew Holmes, Caryn Ipapo-Glass, Zaquia Mahler Salinas, Cara Steen, and of course, Michael Mizerany himself. Mizerany has worked on over 15 shows at Diversionary Theatre, including [MANHANDLED], MAN CLAN, HOT GUYS DANCING, and A NEW BRAIN. He calls VA VA an “…homage to traditional burlesque with a contemporary twist – the show is brash, brassy and bodacious, featuring dynamic and athletic movement and beautiful bodies. It’s a great way to start your new year.”
Mizerany anticipates his favorite part of the show will be the “Ooohhs and ahhhhs coming from the audience.” Enter THE VA VA VOOM ROOM and you can share their pleasure.
